I’ve tested several plug-and-play retro systems over the years, and the 2026 Upgraded HQM15B Retro Gaming Console is easily one of the most impressive I’ve used. It hits the perfect balance between classic gaming charm and modern performance.
? Massive Game Library
With 20,000+ built-in games and 23 emulators, this thing is stacked. From old-school arcade titles to classic console favorites, the variety is almost overwhelming—in a good way. Everything is neatly organized by system, making it easy to browse and jump right into your childhood.
? 4K HDMI Output Looks Great
I wasn’t expecting much from a retro system in terms of display, but the 4K HD HDMI output is surprisingly crisp. Obviously, the original pixel art remains low-res by nature, but the upscaling is clean and avoids the blurry look that plagues cheaper knockoff consoles.
? Plug & Play Simplicity
Setup took under two minutes. Plug the stick into the TV, connect the power, turn on the controllers, and you’re ready to go. No software installs, no complicated menus—just play.
? Responsive Wireless Controllers
The 2 included wireless controllers are comfortable and responsive, with no noticeable input lag from my couch. They’re not heavy premium controllers, but they feel solid and get the job done even in fast-paced games.
? Smooth Performance Across Systems
I tried platformers, fighters, racing games, and even some higher-end retro systems. Everything ran smoothly with fast loading and stable emulation. The HQM15B handles its library well without freezing or crashing.
?
? Final Verdict
The HQM15B 2026 Upgraded Retro Game Stick is an excellent value for anyone who loves classic gaming. Whether you’re revisiting your childhood favorites or introducing retro titles to younger family members, this console delivers endless entertainment with zero hassle.
If you want a huge game library, smooth emulation, and simple plug-and-play fun—this is absolutely worth picking up.

Ya know. I’ve read some off reviews on these but I play the pre 2000 games…and i love it. I ended up getting this because I wanted the atari tiger heli that was coming out. I decided to wait for the pacman version of the atari saw this while browsing. A few of the games (out of 1000s) are weird or don’t work well (frogger) but there are different versions. For example with the frogger issue; i found frogger again under genesis and it works great. This is just an example. For the money- this cannot be beat. I know there are alot of similar gamestick 4k floating around. This one in particular works well; can’t speak for the others or other versions. You basically get chronologically Atari to PS1. There are a lot of platforms I never heard of. One is called PC engine and its pretty cool. A+. Had it about a month and if it breaks tomorrow; it was worth it (I hope it doesn’t). Plan on giving some of these for Christmas. I would imagine that just about every game you can think of from atari through sega genesis/Neo Geo is on here. There are a lot less PS1 games but there are a few.

So excited to get this game system especially since it was small and easily able to just hide and not see some big chunky gaming system. Can’t forget the other fact that it offers a lot of the games I grew up on. Figured my kids would be so excited to play it as well, and they were! So time comes to open it up and try it out. Plugged the little device in as instructed and installed the batteries as instructed as well.. it loads up and we get to flipping through all of the games selected one to try out, it never fully loaded just kept running through the game pre view. Selected the next one under it, it got to the start/selection (one player/two player) the controller part never moved, wouldn’t let us select what was highlighted which was the one player. So never got to play it. The controller let us back out and select another game. Same thing. So then tried another game. It let us go through the entire start up and selections. Well the game starts up and nothing is working but it let us back out of the game. Sooooo idk if this system we have has a defect or what. Very sad and disappointed.

I was completely blown away by this gaming console! It brings together all the classic games I’ve ever wanted from various platforms in one sleek device. The 4K resolution makes old favorites look incredibly crisp and vibrant, while the wireless controllers let me play from across the room without any cords holding me back. Our family game nights have become so much more fun and inclusive thanks to the plug-and-play design—even my non-gamer friends can join in effortlessly. With over 20,000 games pre-loaded across 23 emulators and a 64GB TF card, there’s no need for downloads or internet. Just hook it up to your TV, and you’re instantly immersed in a massive library of timeless titles. For anyone passionate about retro gaming, this console is an absolute must-have that delivers endless entertainment and nostalgia.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but this retro gaming console surprised me in the best way. It really does come loaded with a ton of classic games like, you can scroll forever. I grew up playing a lot of these, so turning it on felt like going back in time. Setup was super easy. I just plugged the HDMI stick into my TV, connected the power, and it started right up. No complicated menus or downloading extra stuff. The wireless controllers connected instantly and there wasn’t any weird lag, which I was worried about. I’ve tried other retro consoles before that felt cheap or glitchy, but this one has been really solid so far. For the price, you get a TON of content and something that actually works well. I’m honestly really happy with this purchase, I also love that two people can play right away, perfect for hanging out with family and friends without spending extra money on accessories.
