Have not purchased a NBA2K game since 2k21. With prime deals I figured it was great time to get it at a very low price. Have not played it yet but hoping to have some fun when I do and see how much if anything has changed. If you can catch this one on a sale I say try it out. The only thing is the minimum 120GB is brutal

NBA 2K25 for PlayStation 5 is a solid basketball game to pass the time. The graphics are ultra-realistic, and the gameplay is smooth and immersive. The new features, updated rosters, and enhanced modes like MyCareer and MyTeam make it a fun game for basketball fans. I enjoyed it more than previous years.

I bought NBA 2K25 for my son, and he absolutely loves it! The graphics are amazing, and he really enjoys playing it with his friends. A lot of his friends have this game too, so they’re always teaming up or going head-to-head, having a blast. He’s already talking about how excited he is for NBA 2K26!
It’s not just a game for kids either—my husband loves playing it just as much. It’s truly a game for all ages and perfect for anyone who enjoys gaming and basketball. Whether you’re playing solo, with friends, or as a family, it’s guaranteed fun. I highly recommend this game!

I’ve spent some time with NBA 2K25 on the PS5, and while there’s a lot to appreciate, there are also some areas that could use fine-tuning. Here’s a honest take on the game.
Visuals and Presentation:
As expected, the graphics are top-notch. The player models, lighting, and arena details look fantastic on the PS5, really capturing the feel of an NBA game. Animations are smooth, and the level of detail in both players and environments is impressive. From sweat on the players to the fluidity of movement, it feels immersive. The crowd and in-game commentary also add to the experience, though some of the dialogue can feel repetitive after a while.
Gameplay:
The gameplay itself is solid. The controls are responsive, and the movement of players feels realistic and natural, with a good balance between skill and timing. New dribbling mechanics and shooting controls offer a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of them, they add depth to the experience. However, like past versions, it can sometimes feel like animations take over during certain plays, making you feel like you’ve lost control of the outcome.
One thing that could be improved is the AI. While it’s mostly solid, there are moments where your teammates make questionable decisions on both offense and defense. This can be frustrating, especially in close games where a simple misstep from the AI can swing the outcome.
MyCareer and MyTeam Modes:
MyCareer has its usual flair, with a lot of customization options and a storyline that tries to engage you off the court as much as on it. The storyline is decent, but at times, it feels a bit drawn out, and you might find yourself skipping through cutscenes to get back to the gameplay. The grind for progression in MyCareer is real, especially if you’re not willing to spend on Virtual Currency (VC), which has become a bit too central to the experience.
MyTeam offers a lot of variety and challenges but, again, the microtransactions can feel like they’re pushed too hard. Building a competitive team without spending real money is a challenge, and that might turn off some players who prefer a more balanced approach to progression.
Online Play:
Online play can be both rewarding and frustrating. When the servers are running smoothly, it’s great to play against real players. However, like previous iterations, server issues can crop up, causing lag or even disconnections during matches, which takes away from the enjoyment.
Verdict:
Overall, NBA 2K25 is a great basketball simulation with incredible visuals, deep gameplay, and a range of modes to dive into. However, the emphasis on microtransactions and occasional AI inconsistencies might detract from the experience for some. If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll likely enjoy the improvements and features, but if you’re new to 2K, be prepared for some grinding and the temptation of in-game purchases.
